EXPO KATOWICE International Fair is not only an opportunity to promote products and services. The fair is also a place where company representatives can establish new business contacts, learn about trends and exchange experiences. EXPO KATOWICE Fair is a platform for numerous B2B meetings, congresses, conferences and symposia.
The formula of our Fair has been expanded to include congresses, conferences and panel discussions. These are extremely important events that attract experts from various fields. One such event that caught the attention of participants at last year’s EXPO KATOWICE was the Conference “Coal Mine Methane – Current Status and Challenges,” which was organized by the International Center of Excellence for Coal Mine Methane in Poland, the Central Mining Institute and Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A. During the conference, a number of important topics were discussed, such as methods of controlling and monitoring methane emissions, legal regulations on methane emissions into the atmosphere, and technologies for capturing and using methane from coal mines. Issues of the EU methane strategy or the transformation of the coal sector were also raised. Thanks to such conferences, participants have the opportunity to learn about the latest trends and solutions in the field, which certainly has an impact on the development of the entire sector. – explains Iwona Gramatyka, president of EXPO Katowice S.A.
As part of the Fair, a competition for Exhibitors is also held on a regular basis, the purpose of which is to promote innovative solutions and support and distinguish those companies that focus on continuous development, research, innovation. For several editions, there is also a competition for pupils and students of technical universities: “Innovations in Industry EXPO KATOWICE”, which is a great opportunity to present ideas and projects of young and talented people, often ahead of commonly used solutions. On the other hand, for students it is also an excellent opportunity to present themselves to the labor market, direct contact with potential employers, of which the cooperation between the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow and Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A. is an excellent example.
The cooperation between our university and JSW brings many benefits to both parties. As one of the best technical universities in Poland, we provide the Company with knowledge and modern technological solutions for its mines, which increase their efficiency and work safety. On the other hand, thanks to cooperation with Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa, AGH students have the opportunity to gain practical knowledge and experience in one of the largest and most modern hard coal mines in Europe. – says Marek Borowski, Ph.D., Prof. of AGH, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Resource Management at AGH
The cooperation also promotes applied research in the field of mining, which translates into the development of science and technology and practical solutions for use in mines. As part of its cooperation with JSW S.A. AGH Krakow also participates in projects related to environmental protection and methane utilization, which is of great importance for improving air quality and for work safety in mines. – Marek Borowski, Ph.D., adds.
Also key is the cooperation of mining companies with research institutes, such as the KOMAG Institute of Mining Technology, which jointly develop and implement innovative solutions that affect the development of the entire mining industry.
Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa from the beginning of its existence has been actively cooperating
with our Institute in the construction, modernization and expansion of processing plants. In its mines, many of the machines in operation were designed by our designers, also equipping them with modern control systems. We monitor the quality of the processing processes and implemented solutions on an ongoing basis, basing our cooperation on trust and competence. – emphasizes Dariusz Prostański, Ph.D., Professor ITG KOMAG, Director of the KOMAG Institute of Mining Technology.
Together with JSW S.A., we have also implemented a number of national and international projects, co-financed by public institutions, which involved a number of innovative green and digital initiatives, involving the design of ecological and energy-efficient engineering solutions, which are a sign of a conscious approach to assessing the impact that humans have on the environment, making an informal alliance of both Institutions to support the green transformation of Silesia. – adds Dariusz Prostański, Ph.D., professor of ITG KOMAG.
The results of this cooperation over the years have been presented at the EXPO KATOWICE International Fair, which emphasizes the importance of this event in the context of promoting innovation and modern solutions in the international arena. Thanks to such a presentation, companies, institutes and universities are able to attract new customers and business partners, which has a positive impact on their development, position in global markets and contributes to the economic escalation of our country.
The entire mining and energy industry is cordially invited to participate in the 20th anniversary edition of the EXPO KATOWICE International Trade Fair, which will be held September 4-6, 2024.
