During the Gala for Exhibitors held last evening (6.09) at the NOSPR in Katowice, the president of EXPO Katowice SA, Iwona Gramatyka, welcomed all participants, thanking them for their presence at this year’s Fair. Also speaking was the Mayor of the City of Katowice – Dr. Marcin Krupa, who emphasized the special character of this event and the place where the gala is held, i.e. the Culture Zone, which used to be a coal mine, and today is a mine of culture, meetings, debates and exchange of views.

Also speaking was Dr. Piotr Buchwald, President of the Board of Directors of the Central Mine Rescue Station SA of Bytom, which is celebrating the jubilee of 115 years of activity on Polish soil. In a short presentation, he presented the history of the CSRG, and thanked President Iwona Gramatyka for many years of cooperation.

Then Iwona Gramatyka and Dr. Marcin Krupa honored Diamond Exhibitors (list attached) with commemorative statuettes, i.e. representatives of those companies that have been continuously at the Fair for a minimum of 15 years (since 2007). After the Diamond Exhibitors were awarded, the President of EXPO Katowice SA and the Mayor of Katowice were joined on stage by EXPO Katowice SA Supervisory Board member Henryk Stabla and CSRG Management Board President Dr. Piotr Buchwald, and together they honored the winners of the Exhibitors’ Innovation Competition in three categories: “Innovative machinery and equipment,” “Innovative technologies” and “Improving safety.”

It is worth mentioning that yesterday’s Gala was hosted by the duo of Nina Nocoń and Marek Mróz, and the Crystal String Quartet provided a wonderful artistic, musical setting.
